LET’S CHECK IN WITH THOSE LOVABLE LOONS ON THE LEFT, SHALL WE?
From time to time, I find it nearly impossible to settle on a single issue on which to pontificate, so in an effort to avoid needless frustration, I find it therapeutic to comment on multiple goings-on in the wacky world of liberalism. Today is one of those times.
From our friends on the left. Enjoy:
Van Jones: Paul Ryan is worse than al Qaeda: Our pal Van Jones is back at it, and he’s loonier than ever. On Planet Van, Paul Ryan’s budget proposal would do more damage to the American infrastructure “than al Qaeda ever dreamed of.” Get some fresh air Van.
Fareed Zakaria: Our antiquated love of the Constitution: I’m beginning to think I could write an entire blog on Zakaria, and never run out of material. In today’s episode, Fareed laments on the failure of Americans to realize that our Founding Fathers – as well as the Constitution – keep us from being like “other countries.” He’s exactly right. Thank God.
Atheists sue Arkansas transit authority over “Good without God” ads: Those zany atheists are at it again, God love ’em. This time, they’re in a tizzy because the Central Arkansas Transit Authority (CATA) won’t put their “Are you good without God? Millions are.” ads on city busses. Even better, the United Coalition of Reason charges that the CATA’s refusal is a violation of their free speech. Seriously? Bless their little hearts.
International group of singers records anti-Israel song: The “all-star”group, which includes the rapper, Lowkey, accuses Israel of crimes against humanity and illegal occupation of “Palestine.” Oh yeah, the group Coldplay posted a message of support on Facebook supporting the effort and instructing its fans to listen to the song.
New York Times unhappy with Sarah Palin’s lack of respect for the media: Does this takes chutzpah to a new level, or what? Chief political blogger, Michael Shear is miffed that “Sarah Palin has apparently decided that she can treat the media any way she wants — and they will be there regardless.” Guess what, Michael? She’s right -on both counts.
Middle school yearbook compares Bush and Cheney to Hitler and Manson: Left-wing nonsense and public education are to political discourse what Laurel and Hardy are to comedy. The Russellville Middle School yearbook included a list of the “Top 5 worst people of all time.” Numbers 1-3 were Adolph Hitler, Osama bin Laden, and Charles Manson. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney came in at numbers 4 and 5, respectively. Bummer. Perhaps they’ll move up in 2012’s yearbook.
TV execs admit that Hollywood pushes liberal agenda: “Friends” co-creator Marta Kauffman and “House” creator David Shore admit that Hollywood discriminates against and belittles conservatives. Seriously? You’re kidding, right? Kaufman claims that discrimination against conservatives is justifiable, because “they’re “idiots” with “medieval minds.” Rumor has it that Kauffman’s next effort will be either be named “The Sky is Blue” or “No S#*t, Sherlock.”
Obama Declares June “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Month”: In an “I see your Gay and Lesbian Pride Month, and raise you one bisexual and a transgender,“ Barack Obama trumped Bill Clinton’s 2000 effort. However, in a slap to the LGBT, Obama also proclaimed June “National Caribbean-American Heritage Month,” “African-American Music Appreciation Month” and “Great Outdoors Month.” Poor dude, there just aren’t enough months to go around, are there?
So there you have it folks – I feel better already. So much material and so little time – it feels awesome to get somewhat caught up. However, tomorrow is another day.
