MISHY WOOS HOLLYWOOD ELITE WITH HER ECONOMIC KNOWLEDGE
We can all sleep better tonight, America; world-renowned economist Michelle Obama has told a private gathering of Hollywood elites that the U.S. economy has made “remarkable progress” due exclusively to the unbelievably adept and miraculous efforts of the Regime.
“In the last three years, we’ve worked hard to get out of this mess and we’ve made some remarkable progress, ” the noted economist told the gaggle of muckety-mucks. As evidence, she cited Obamacare, the removal of U.S. troops from Iraq and the repeal of “Don’t ask, don’t tell.”
Well now, let’s see: According to a recent Congressional Budget Office Report on demonstrations conducted by Medicare, Obamacare will not reduce healthcare costs. In fact, evidence continues to suggest that costs will actually increase under Obama’s government-run program.
And the removal of troops from Iraq? While one could argue that Obama’s hasty retreat from Iraq without an agreement to leave a contingency of troops in the country for special operations and training purposes will save the U.S. money moving forward, what about the incredible amount of blood and treasure we’ve left behind in Iraq? If the country disintegrates into civil war, or worse – falls under the domination of Iran, America’s investment will have merely been an unnecessary horrible expense – not to mention that the Middle East will be a much more dangerous place than it already is.
As for the repeal of “Don’t ask, don’t tell,” all your hubby did was further pander to the LGBT crowd, Mishy – as if he didn’t already have their vote locked up anyway. Economic impact? Zero.
“We know there are people still suffering and there is a long road left to travel,” the king’s queen told the private gathering, which included top Obama donors Jeffrey Katzenberg and Harvey Weinstein. Also in attendance were Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, music industry icons Quincy Jones, Berry Gordy and Jerry Ross, film producer Steve Bing, Rob and Michele Reiner and Will Ferrell’s wife, Vivica. (Babs Streisand, Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon must have been out of the country.)
“You’re here because you know that we stand at a fundamental crossroads for our country. You’re here because you know that in less than a year from now, we are going to make a choice that will impact our lives for decades to come.”
The Hollywood movers and shakers listened with rapt attention as Mishy explained that her hubby’s “toughness and fight” comes as a result of learning of the struggles of ordinary Americans:
“I hear the passion and the determination in [Obama's] voice,” she said. “He says, ‘You won’t believe what folks are still going through.’ That’s what he tells me. He says, ‘Michelle, this ain’t right, and we have to fix this. We have so much more work to do.'”
What “ain’t right,” Mishy, is your ridiculous “analysis” of the state of the U.S. economy. Your hubby continues to spend borrowed money like a drunken sailor and there is no end in sight to reigning in the obscene U.S. debt level, which now exceeds $15.3 trillion. Throw in a continuing unemployment rate in excess of 8%, and you talk of “remarkable progress”?
What was right, as you preached to the Hollywood choir, was “in less than a year from now, we are going to make a choice that will impact our lives for decades to come.” Yes, we most certainly are going to make that choice, Mishy:
Will we continue down the self-destructive path of European-style Socialism and finally push our economy into the abyss, or will we elect a fiscally-responsible president who understands the differences between equal opportunity and equal results; who understands that cradle-to-grave care, excessive taxation – both corporate and personal – and stifling over-regulation of business are not what made America great? A critical choice, indeed.
Will we have learned our lesson the last three years, Mishy? God only knows.
In related news, renowned climatologist Michelle Obama told the gathering that “of course global warming is 100% man-made” and that “armageddon is right around the corner if we don’t reelect Barack”; expert NFL analyst Michelle Obama advised the crowd to “take the Giants at minus 3 – they’re going to win by 6″; and noted film critic Michelle Obama predicted that “Hugo” will edge out “War Horse” for best picture at this year’s Academy Awards.
I wonder if they made fun of us “gun-toting, bible-clutching” Midwesterners again – with microphone off this time, of course.
