If you were (un)fortunate enough to see video of our embarrassing Commander-in-Chief’s joint news conference with Japanese Prime Minister Noda yesterday, you not only saw a very small man spike the football yet again over the killing of Osama bin Laden – you also saw the Office of the President diminished by the smug look on his face and his sarcastic answer in response to a question on his latest political ad – which questions whether Mitt Romney would have ordered the raid. All in the presence of a visiting head of state, no less. Does Barack Obama have no shame?

How bad was it? Arianna Huffington – of all people – even called it “despicable.” The ad is not only a blatant violation of his own “We don’t need to spike the football” comment, made to somehow suggest that we Americans are above that sort of thing, but his performance yesterday was an abject embarrassment to the Presidency. This is not a partisan observation – Republicans and Democrats alike should be disgusted by the new low to which this cocky jerk has stooped. At the very least, Arianna agrees. Does Barack Obama have no shame?

Incredibly – although completely predictable based on past performance – President Cojones Grandes became visible agitated yesterday at the mere suggestion that his Regime has excessively celebrated the anniversary of bin Laden’s killing. This, from a man who admonished Americans about not “spiking the football” a year ago – only to set off at breakneck speed on his nationwide “I Killed Osama Bin Laden Victory Tour.” Does Barack Obama have no shame?

Huffington, who normally takes positions somewhere to the left of Hugo Chavez, was quick to comment on Obama’s attack ad questioning Romney’s resolve, saying that the making of a campaign ad about the killing of Osama bin Laden, as President Barack Obama has done, is one of the most despicable things you can do.”

Ironically, the Hypocrite-in-Chief’s campaign accused Hillary Clinton of using Osama bin Ladento score political points during the 2008 campaign. On the eve of the Pennsylvania primary, Clinton’s campaign released a television commercial featuring an image of bin Laden and invoking President Harry S. Truman’s quote: “If you can’t stand the heat get out of the kitchen.” The narrator then asked, “Who do you think has what it takes?” as an image of Hillary appeared on the screen.

An Obama campaign spokesman was quick to cry foul, accusing Hillary’s campaign of “playing on the politics of fear – just like George Bush.” (Poor President Bush even gets dragged through the coals when Democrats attack each other.) Said Obama’s mouthpiece at the time:

“When Senator Clinton voted with President Bush to authorize the war in Iraq, she made a tragically bad decision that diverted our military from the terrorists who attacked us, and allowed Osama bin Laden to escape and regenerate his terrorist network. It’s ironic that she would borrow the President’s tactics in her own campaign and invoke bin Laden to score political points. We already have a President who plays the politics of fear, and we don’t need another.”

Does Barack Obama have no shame?

For his part, Mitt Romney weighed in on the disgraceful reelection tactic yesterday as well, calling on Obama to refrain from turning the bin Laden killing into a “politically divisive event.” While Romney repeated his oft made comment that Obama can rightfully take credit for bin Laden’s killing he also said it was “very disappointing for the President to try to make this a political item” by suggesting he wouldn’t have ordered the raid, adding, “Of course I would have.”

Finally, US Navy SEALs – serving and current – have slammed Obama for taking the credit for killing bin Laden, accusing him of using Special Forces operators as “ammunition” for his re-election campaign. Ryan Zinke, a former Commander in the US Navy who spent 23 years as a SEAL and led a SEAL Team 6 assault unit, said:

“The decision was a no brainer. I applaud him for making it but I would not overly pat myself on the back for making the right call. I think every president would have done the same. He is justified in saying it was his decision but the preparation, the sacrifice – it was a broader team effort.”

A serving SEAL Team member said:

“Obama wasn’t in the field, at risk, carrying a gun. As president, at every turn he should be thanking the guys who put their lives on the line to do this. He does so in his official speeches because he speechwriters are smart. But the more he tries to take the credit for it, the more the ground operators are saying, ‘Come on, man!’ It really didn’t matter who was president. At the end of the day, they were going to go.”

Chris Kyle, a former SEAL sniper with 160 confirmed and another 95 unconfirmed kills to his credit, called the exploitation bin Laden’s killing a “cheap political shot”:

“The operation itself was great and the nation felt immense pride. It was great that we did it. But in years to come there is going to be information that will come out that Obama was not the man who made the call. He can say he did and the people who really know what happened are inside the Pentagon – are in the military and the military isn’t allowed to speak out against the Commander-in-Chief so his secret is safe.”

Does Barack Obama have no shame?

It was apparent from the outset of the 2008 campaign that the community organizer from Chicago was not made of the right stuff – at least not the stuff we’ve come to expect in our presidents. His desire to remake America in the image of the failed states of Europe is only eclipsed, perhaps, by his hypocrisy, thin skin and a willingness to say and do anything he thinks he must do – in his pretender-to-throne mindset – to cling to power. Even if it means diminishing the Office of the President of the United States.

  1. How can you politicize something that didn’t happen? I am seeing sites on the Right that claim bin Laden is alive and well. They say that the raid was a fake.

  2. Obama takes credit and uses it for his campaign. Watch as a video of OBL surfaces and Obama will quickly shift the blame to the SEAL Team 6. Now to see of who leaked the information about the Chinook’s location that was shot down with the SEAL Team 6 onboard.

  3. Miss Bill Clinton? Used to be prosecution couldn’t convict in death (murder) without body. With Clinton even bodies didn’t matter. So why no body of Osama be important. There must be a moon rock that favors his likeness and proves he’s gone as of May 1, 2011. Don’t spike the accomplishment until election time, radicals of all sorts don’t care, just keep the powers that be in the be!

  4. Uh – was kiddin’ about the Clinton part. ;-)

  5. Been reading your post couple weeks. I figured you were. Got here by way of link from Cowyboypress. Enjoy your posts and comments.
