O’S ‘HOPE AND CHANGE’ HAS BECOME A SAD JOKE AS NOVEMBER ELECTION NEARS
“Generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when we began to provide care for the sick and good jobs to the jobless; this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal; this was the moment when we ended a war and secured our nation and restored our image as the last, best hope on Earth.” — Barack Hussein Obama
After spitting Diet Coke all over my keyboard as I first read that incredibly megalomaniacal quote from The One barely four years ago, I asked myself: “Who in the hell does Barack Obama think he is, Jesus Christ?” Now – as the savior approaches the end of his reign – the better question has become: “Who in the hell does Jesus Christ think he is, Barack Obama?”
This guy has always made hyperbole look modest; it’s one thing to talk of providing healthcare for the sick and jobs for the jobless, but to speak – out loud for all to hear – of “the moment” when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal – because you and you alone won your party’s nomination for the presidency? Who does that? Barack Hussein Obama, of course.
The only problem is – a funny thing happened on the way to Utopia – er – hope and change. Obama’s attempt to take over the healthcare system – and mandate purchases by Americans – is tied up in the SCOTUS, and will likely be deemed unconstitutional later this month. Apparently, Obama believes that as well – telling wealthy donors this week that he needs a second term to “re-do” healthcare. We’ll pass, Mr. President.
The unemployment rate has remained above 8% for the entire term of his presidency. He told us that – $862 billion of “stimulus” later – the rate would be capped at 8%. It went to 10%. And? It’s still above 8% – climbing to 8.2% in the latest unemployment report, with only 69,000 jobs created in May. Truth be told, when the underemployed and those who have stopped looking for jobs altogether are added in, the number climbs well into double digits. But hey, who’s counting? Millions on food stamps and SSDI are preferable for a socialist president anyway.
He promised to “cut the deficit in half.” The reality? He added more debt during the first 3 1/2 years of his presidency than George Bush added in two entire terms while fighting two wars.
While the liberal media and Obama’s political hacks desperately try to spin his failures and “accomplishments” by every means possible – blaming the Republicans for “blocking” his socialist agenda, telling all who will listen how much more dire the “inherited” economy was than he realized before he took office – and quoting bogus federal spending reports in a transparent effort to rewrite history, facts are facts – and they don’t lie. The Regime and its sycophants? That’s a different story, isn’t it?
Regardless, life on Planet Obama is getting really desperate. The One has lost his footing -his swagger, too. The media wrote of him “stumbling out of the gate” as he began his scorched earth campaign of “divide and conquer” against Mitt Romney in earnest. His attack on Mitt’s career with Bain Capital has been criticized by everyone from Bill O’Reilly to Bill Clinton, but guess what? Thankfully, due in large part to his pathetic ego, he’s doubling down.
And now? The awful thought – unimaginable to Obamanites just a few short months ago? The once invincible Barack Hussein Obama might actually lose this thing.
At any rate, I’m not sure whether the rise of the oceans has begun to slow – or the planet has begun to heal – but I am sure of this: Barack Hussein Obama’s empty campaign promises, continual pitting of one group of Americans against another, socialist ideology and failure to accept responsibility for anything will leave this country in far worse shape than he found it. The hell of it is – I don’t think he gives a damn – as long as he is reelected.
George Bush must indeed be smiling these days. Good for him.
Besides, if the rise of the oceans began to slow and the earth began to heal – all because of Barack Obama – wouldn’t that move him up a notch or two on the “greatest presidents in history” list?
