O HIDES IN CLOSET AS LACKEYS MAKE FOOLS OF THEMSELVES

O SPOKESMAN SAYS O DISAGREES WITH SCOTUS RULING – WAIT, WHAT?

This just in from the Have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too department: In an interview on CNN this morning, Team O spokesman Ben LaBolt said that O disagrees with SCOTUS’s ruling that the individual mandate in Obamacare is a tax.

Anchor Soledad O’Brien (of all people) questioned LaBolt: “His spokesman said it’s a penalty. The Supreme Court has said it’s a tax. What does he believe?”

“That it’s a penalty,” LaBolt answered. “You saw our arguments before the Supreme Court.”

“So then he disagrees with the Supreme Court decision that says it’s now a tax?” O’Brien asked.

“That’s right,” said LaBolt. “He said that it’s a penalty. You saw our arguments before the Court.”

Astonishingly, über-liberal O’Brien pointed out that the Regime’s solicitor general, Donald Verrilli, argued before the Court that if the justices chose not to find the mandate constitutional under the Commerce Clause, they could still uphold it because it is a tax; because “Congress has broad power to levy taxes.”

LaBolt then lied denied that the Regime had ever made such an argument: “It [the Regime] never referred to it as a…it never referred to it as a tax. It said that it was a penalty. And that’s under the section of the law that is the tax code, but it said very specifically that it’s a penalty.”

This was – dare I say – a bald-faced lie. Of course the Regime justified the individual mandate to SCOTUS as a tax.

Having said as much,  while I’m amused by the continuing pissing contest over whether the mandate is indeed a tax, or a penalty (a buck is a buck),  the machinations of the Regime as it continues to get its collective panties in a bunch over the “T” word are downright comical.

The bottom line is this: while the Regime’s lackeys continue to be shoved out to defend the O-man and ObamaCare against the “T” word, the one person who has remained silent about the issue is O himself. Where does he come down on the SCOTUS ruling? (other than being “for it.”) Does O believe the mandate is a tax? Does he think the Supreme Court is wrong – by Constitutional definition? When will he sack up and tell us?

Knowing O, he doesn’t give a damn about the legalities or the Constitutional implications one way or the other – just as long as ObamaCare stands. After all, at the end of the day, it’s really just about government control and wealth redistribution.

Quite a pickle in which we find ourselves when our ideology overrides logic.

Can’t wait for the debates.

  1. “After all, at the end of the day, it’s really just about government control and wealth redistribution.” Actually it’s about life and death, survival and/or bankruptcy due to insurers not paying up or refusing to cover. I am still paying on accident that occurred on January 1, 2004 and wife could not not coverage due to her weight. So tell me about our number one healthcare system. I worked in it for 20+ years and my wife for 40+ years. There are problems in the system, but what makes it stink are the for-profit insurers.

    • Obviously, the system is far from perfect – as evidenced by your situation. And I also agree that the insurance companies have become a major part of the problem. Having said as much, it’ not – in my mind – a “pick um” between ObamaCare and the status quo.

We should begin by allowing health insurance companies to compete across state lines, allow insurance premiums to be paid on a pre-tax basis – and cap malpractice awards. (Not to mention, force those who file frivolous lawsuits to pay the legal fees of those they sue.)

Republicans need to put up a detailed alternative – or shut up. However, it doesn’t change the fact that ObamaCare is indeed about government control and wealth redistribution.

    • “for-profit insurers.” Stinky? What business is not for profit? …and won’t last without it. If you’re saving anything…you don’t want interest? Yep…my checking account pays my one tenth of one percent and charges me 10 dollars service fee without maintained balance, but that’s the price of doing business and I can keep balance over the low minimum. If I don’t one months service fee is like 10 years of .1 % interest. My choice to do business or not. So I make a profit in what I do that lets me do business there…down the line we “pay our fair share.” However, some folks don’t so I read.

      • Good point, unit. I’ve yet to see a not-for-profit insurance company – or any other not-for-profit company for that matter.

Of course, there are always the “mutual” insurance companies, which are “owned” by the policyholders. No profits made there, right? ;-)

        • Yes. And if one worked in the industry 20+ and wife 40+ and there was no profit, how did one and the other get a paycheck? You would have to be on welfare those total 60+ years (like lawyers advertise…5 partners…200 years experience), not a lot of interest on welfare dollars…but Pelosi says unemployment checks is what generates the system! Print, print, print. Yeah…I’m saving toilet paper in my mattress.

  2. Tax or Penalty? A rose by any other name is still a rose! Don’t throw out The Affordable Health Care Act -Fix It.
Set it up on a sliding scale basis. CA had that system for children (did not cover adults) of working low income parents (non welfare recipients) who were unable to afford the high cost of private health insurance.
Insurance Companies – When many hard working people have lost their jobs they are unable to pay the high dollar health insurance monthly premiums out of their unemployment checks and therefor end up with no health insurance at all.
Doctors may, and many do, refuse to see you if you do not have health coverage. Hospitals are required to see you even without health coverage so hospitals become over whelmed with non-emergency non-paying patients. This is esdpecially true in typically low income areas and in the greater Los Angles, CA area alone 7 hospitals have had to close their doors due to bankruptcy, this puts an even greater burden on the hospitals that remain open and are now teetering on bankruptcy. THIS IS NOT A DISTRIBUTION OF WEALTH ISSUE IT IS A DISTRIBUTION OF HEALTH CARE COVERAGE AND SAVING OUR HOSPITALS AND OUR WORKING POOR. Please look at the whole picture on a more humanitarian level and not with tunnel vision because of your dislike for Obama! These are our American brothers and sisters who need Affordable Health Care – these are our hospitals that need to STAY OPEN to treat you or I who can afford Health Insurance and America’s poor who can not afford the high cost of health insurance.

    • I think you are sincere dear, name sounds like dear fits, sorry if prejudged. Anyway, yes care for needy, but do the providers come from candyland? Face up…here is what’s up…:

You have not been reprogrammed yet…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWMIwziGrAQ

I’m sure I’ve stated my bottom line somewhere in previous comments before. I don’t think there is a conspiracy…like insurance poster… I am certain. Yep…that stinks. It is written right or wrong that earth can only sustain one and a half billion of us, whatever we are, humans I guess. Were approaching 7 billion. We have those same old planners with those thoughts in our government and world with those ideas. Thus our Independent Patient Advisory Board of Obamacare. Ole 20+ and 40+…and me are in or approaching the “useless eater” category . “So glad to be here.” Accolades to Miss Pearl. I expect to be stamped ” Care denied”, of course after the fact, kinda like the unborn.

But Hooray…I’m not pessimistic:) Let’s see what transpires 11/6.

  3. I couldn’t find the link a while ago but here is what some are looking for to make the world taste good. And I did enjoy song many years ago.

I still enjoy the illusion and dream. Thanks for giving me reason to search it and listen again. :)
