ONE MORE EFFORT TO FORCE ALL AMERICANS INTO OBAMACARE
To hear Barack Obama talk – particularly when he speaks before members of the military – he’s the greatest champion of America’s Armed Forces in the history of the Union. (Despite having ranked himself as “only” the “fourth” best president in history.) However, according to published reports, should O be reelected, he plans to cut healthcare benefits for both active and retired military personnel – across the board. Oh, and “shockingly”, he plans to leave unionized defense workers’ benefits unchanged. Hmm. Let’s look into this a bit and see if we can figure it out. Here’s
propaganda information from a recent White House “fact sheet“:
Today, President Obama will sign an Executive Order directing key federal departments to expand suicide prevention strategies and take steps to meet the current and future demand for mental health and substance abuse treatment services for veterans, service members, and their families.Ensuring that all veterans, Active, Guard, and Reserve service members and their families receive the support they deserve is a top priority for the Obama Administration. Since September 11, 2001, more than two million service members have deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan with unprecedented duration and frequency. Long deployments and intense combat conditions require optimal support for the emotional and mental health needs of our service members and their families. The Obama Administration has consistently expanded efforts to ensure our troops, veterans and their families receive the benefits they have earned and deserve, including providing timely mental health service. The Executive Order signed today builds on these efforts.
“As America asks more of these families, they have a right to expect more of us. This is our moral obligation. It’s also a matter of national security. The readiness of our Armed Forces depends on the readiness of our military families.”
In an effort to cut defense spending, the Obama Administration plans to cut health benefits for active duty and retired military personnel and their families while not touching the benefits enjoyed by unionized civilian defense workers.
The move, congressional aides suggested, is to force those individuals into Obamacare, Bill Gertz reported at the Washington Free Beacon.
“The proposed increases in health care payments by service members, which must be approved by Congress, are part of the Pentagon’s $487 billion cut in spending. It seeks to save $1.8 billion from the Tricare medical system in the fiscal 2013 budget, and $12.9 billion by 2017.”
Military personnel would see their annual Tricare premiums increase anywhere from 30% to 78% in the first year, followed by sharply increased premiums “ranging from 94% to 345% – more than 3 times current levels.”
“According to congressional assessments, a retired Army colonel with a family currently paying $460 a year for health care will pay $2,048,” Gertz wrote.
Active duty military personnel would also see an increased cost for pharmaceuticals, and the incentive to use less expensive generic drugs would be gone. Continue reading…
Well now. How Obama-esque. Say one thing; do another. What a shock.
Here’s the dirty little secret: The Obamas loathe the military; it stands for nearly everything they oppose: liberty, pride in country, hard work, patriotism, and worst of all – American Exceptionalism. Here’s the not-so-little secret: The military doesn’t care all that much for the Obamas, either.
So, the next time you see O or Mooch
lying their asses off heaping praise on America’s Armed Forces, promising the moon and the stars (as Mooch said, it’s our “moral obligation,” you know), remember; they’re not speaking to the military at all – they’re simply playing to independents and the few Obamabots who – unlike the Obamas – actually respect America’s fighting forces.
Six more days.
