Tell me again why this is not infanticide?
I’m confused. One of the definitions of “abort,” according to Merriam-Webster, is: “to terminate a procedure prematurely.” Another is: “to bring forth stillborn, nonviable, or premature offspring.” Call me stupid, but how can murdering a baby born alive be classified as “abortion”?
Alisa LaPolt Snow, a Planned Parenthood lobbyist, sees it a tad bit differently: The decision to kill an infant who survives a failed abortion should be left up to the woman seeking the abortion – and her abortion doctor. (No word yet on whether a lobbyist has stepped forward for newborn children.)
Okay, so let me get this straight: “premature offspring” refers to any baby a woman decides she doesn’t want? And, “abortion” can be defined as murdering an unwanted child – even after it’s born? Got it.
From the Weekly Standard: Florida legislators considering a bill to require abortionists to provide medical care to an infant who survives an abortion were shocked during a committee hearing this week when a Planned Parenthood official endorsed a right to post-birth abortion.
Alisa LaPolt Snow, the lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, testified that her organization believes the decision to kill an infant who survives a failed abortion should be left up to the woman seeking an abortion and her abortion doctor.
“So, um, it is just really hard for me to even ask you this question because I’m almost in disbelief,” said Rep. Jim Boyd. “If a baby is born on a table as a result of a botched abortion, what would Planned Parenthood want to have happen to that child that is struggling for life?”
“We believe that any decision that’s made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician,” said Planned Parenthood lobbyist Snow.
Rep. Daniel Davis then asked Snow, “What happens in a situation where a baby is alive, breathing on a table, moving. What do your physicians do at that point?”
“I do not have that information,” Snow replied. “I am not a physician, I am not an abortion provider. So I do not have that information.”
Rep. Jose Oliva followed up, asking the Planned Parenthood official, “You stated that a baby born alive on a table as a result of a botched abortion that that decision should be left to the doctor and the family. Is that what you’re saying?”
Again, Snow replied, “That decision should be between the patient and the health care provider.”
“I think that at that point the patient would be the child struggling on the table, wouldn’t you agree?” asked Oliva.
“That’s a very good question. I really don’t know how to answer that,” Snow said. “I would be glad to have some more conversations with you about this.” Continue reading…
Like hell she would. Pro-abortion advocates – yes, pro-abortion, as opposed to the oh so “progressive” sounding “pro-choice” misnomer – believe in one thing and one thing alone: removing the “burden” of an unwanted child from the life a woman who wasn’t smart enough to avoid pregnancy – but is now “smart” enough to erase her “mistake.” Here’s the video:
Incidentally, not only did then-Illinois state senator Barack Obama vote against the “Born-Alive Infants Protection Act” three times; Mooch is on record for referring to partial birth abortion as “a legitimate medical procedure.” This is your “First Family,” America.
P.S. Can we get something else straight, here? An abortionist is not a “healthcare provider.” The intent of healthcare is to save lives – not end them.
